A famous Chinese warrior removes his beard – and is transformed into a prostitute. Rival commedia divas provoke riots in the streets of Mantua. A Japanese temple dancer dons men’s clothes and creates kabuki theatre. And an American impresario takes her show on the road, despite a Theatre Trust determined to destroy her. Marvel at these and other true stories of female theatre artists in “Women! Live On Stage!”
